Winsome Spin, but not accurate
As the boss of a large group of self-employed professionals in the Pacific NW, I was darned disappointed with this. Let's stop trying to paint a rosy picture on a very BAD predicament. Fact is, health insurance is very inaccessible to individuals. Each state is different, so there is no blanket rejoin. There are some lower premium plans for males in their 20s, but that's only if they do not actually try to use the coverage. If they poverty to see a doctor, the premiums go up - so the plan is just for carrying the card. As for the take to one's bed of us, there is not a reasonable answer yet. HSAs are not what they promise to be. For one, they are not portable. That means that once you DO find a map (usually fairly high premium and very high deductible) you are locked into the HSA. Then the arrange can raise premiums whenever they want and you cannot go elsewhere. Again, the 'plan' does not actually concealment any health care. You pay for everything out of your pocket. Your premiums only cover the card you carry. This is not a foresee.

This is not a book of solutions. The number of self-employed professionals is more than one third of all the m force of the US. We need to DEMAND better than this or we will stop paying twofold taxes.

Mr. Philzer, please use your skills to deal with the real issue, not confectionery coating it just to make yourself a few bucks.

Very disappointed.
Kindly place to start educating yourself. With flaws.
First I'm FOR unlimited health care. Those who gave the book low ratings because of our messed up system and blaming the maker are barking up the wrong tree. There are political stances in the book but not too much. The edacity behind health care sucks but it's not his fault.

Of the three books I've read so far this was the most informative. It did prosper me smarter about how to look for affordable insurance. I now know the difference between the three major commercial types, HMOs, PPOs, and Soprano Deductables. I'm smarter about drugs.

Whether it will help me find affordable insurance is another thing. I'm in a gentle, but expensive HMO currently, with premiums that are going to rise with my age out of my financial snatch if I don't find something more affordable.

ONE star deducted for not telling us HOW to choose a Doctor, or league or find a decent broker. That's essential info we need that is dang urgently to find. Better web URLs might help.

ONE star deducted because he does not fly it clear enough he's a principle in ehealthinsurance.com. Morally this could have been 2 stars.
Please! Interpret this book BEFORE medical testing/dianoses and if self-employed!!!!
You must announce this book - there are so many fantastic tips for attaining your own health insurance. Do NOT willy-nilly unprejudiced apply for a policy WITHOUT first reading this book!!!! If you are denied, ridered or pro-rated - you will pay Affectionately for the rest of your life. It sucks, but it's true. One incredible tip of the book is to embrocate to MORE than one company/policy at the same time and watch/wait like a hawk.... We well-grounded did. My husband was denied coverage to one company, but the other accepted us. No need to say we'd been denied coverage - a leviathan flag for further denials and prorating. Of course, we'll now need to hold the coverage forever. But it's sound, high deductible plan that is all we need anyway - unless a huge danger or illness hits... then we have a 5 million outofpocket max. I NEVER would have thought to do this or many of the other things in this paperback without reading it first. Anyway - please read this NOW - and get your health insurance figured out for the long-term BEFORE getting a "bad" diagnosis, treatment or heck - even a dump medicament med - that will ruin your insurance possibilities forever!!!

PS - just having a high deductible programme of any kind usually lowers your actual charges from a hospital or duty by 50% or more!!! (Disgusting if you ask me! - Charging the uninsured MORE than you'd allow from an insurance company! And they wonder why healthcare and insurance costs are so outta control...? Esurience on both sides is gonna send us into pathetic govt run healthcare.) Hospitals and offices for the most part don't / can't charge interest and can get you on a payment plan after you negotiate them down even further.

Also - order prescription drugs from canada. Medication coverage is usually soooo not worth the money - and will put you at risk for veto of a policy if it covers your drugs. They are the same drugs and again - less than 50% the price in the U.S.

Thanksgiving owing to you for writing this book!!! PS - unless you have an uninsurable condition or are/will become preggers or anticipate a surgery, COBRA is a ripoff. Keep it only till you get your own policy.
Unchangeable Insurance
Best log on Health insurance solutions I have ever read and I am an insurance agent who reads a lot. Mr Pilzer has his hands around the imbroglio. If we would all move to his solution, we would dramatically reduce health care expenditures and provide employees with tangible insurance coverage that goes with them when they leave an employer.

Much more than expected!!
As someone who always has had an boss sponsored health care plan, I was surprised that going out on my own would be more cost gear. I bought this book on recommendation of a friend. Boy, I am glad I took their guidance. With the information found in the book, my wife and I quickly learned many basic facts about unalike health care plans. We then compared our current policy to various policies that we could get on the available market. As a result of this research we have now switched policies for my wife and children allowing us to take benefit of a Health Savings Account. This was a great savings for our family and should provide a eat one's heart out-term savings opportunity. Chapter 4 on how to compare plans and Chapter 5 on how to prevent annual expenses were particularly helpful as we were determining which was the right down for our specific needs. Our take home lesson was that health insurance is not a "one size fits all" outcome, and we are really pleased with our decision to change to a policy more suited to our locale.
Everything you dire to know before purchasing health insurance
Do you climate like you are paying too much for your health insurance? Before you go out and replace your current health insurance plan, you need to do your digging to understand the different options that are available for you to choose from. This book provided me with an conception of the different options and explained what the different health plans really stingy in terms of coverage and out-of-pocket expenses. The content is presented in an pliant to understand format and I guarantee you will understand more about health insurance plans and out-of-pocket expenses after reading this record.

Years ago, health insurance was almost always provided by your employer. The only choice you had to make through your Human Resources Supervisor was whether to choose plan A, B, or C. Today, more individuals are purchasing health insurance on their own. As the cost of health dolour continues to rise, many employers can no longer afford to provide their employees with health insurance. Some employers are even sacrifice their employees more affordable options that are described with words like "consumer directed", "grand deductible", and "HSA". What does this mean for you? My advice to you -- before you go out and get health insurance on your own, you should get up to speed on some important issues that can save you thousands of dollars and steer clear of making painful mistakes selecting the wrong plan for you/your household. Purchasing health insurance requires a level of knowledge that many of us are not comfortable with. This post will take the mystery out of health care shopping and save you money in the process.

You've Got To Be Kidding?
What makes this self-proclaimed championship an expert? He bought an insurance policy. Woohoo! Well guess what? So have millions of other people.

As a licensed health insurance stockbroker, I am offended that someone with no professional training or expertise has written a book claiming to be an superior.

Caveat emptor!

If anyone truly wants to learn how to buy a good health method without getting "ripped off" as he calls it, all they need to do is procure the services of a proficient insurance broker--one with an actual license to offer such advice.

What's next? A book on how to have sagacity surgery without getting ripped off, written by a guy who "shopped around" for the best "attend to" on brain surgeons?
This Work Saved Me Money!!!
My mate and I recently had to select a family health-insurance plan provided through his employer. We were postulated three options and had very differing opinions. While I am comfortable with bigger deductibles and lower monthly premiums, my shush prefers the more conservative, cadillac of insurances where we pay almost nothing for doctor visits, deductibles, prescriptions, etc. While this is certainly an appealing concept, is it absolutely necessary, especially when the cost of such insurance is so ridiculously high? The tools provided in this laws helped us to truly evaluate the value of each plan in how they relate to our kinsfolk. It's nice to finally understand some of the complexities of insurance from a perspective other than an insurance agent.

Health Insurance Cost to Increase in Maine

Affordable health insurance is looking like harder and harder to accomplish as obstacles to president Obama's health care reform are piling up everyday. Among many hurdles are the increasing costs of current health insurance plans. Anthem Obscene Cross, for example, has announced plans to increase premiums and in California and now in Maine.

To be undeviating health insurance companies are not on the way to the poor house. Rather, companies like Wellpoint, the well-spring company of Anthem Blue Cross have continually posted profits. To interfere heavier premiums on individual health insurance plans seems a bit excessive.

In Maine, Anthem Smutty recently requested to raise individual rates by as much as 23 percent. One in 10 residents of Maine currently shortage health insurance. If health insurance rates do go up as planned, this could mean that the millions of individuals who can barely buy insurance may not be accomplished to keep up the payments.

Despite the fact that the health insurance rate hikes will most likely not touch those covered under their employers, it will have a huge impact on the majority of Americans. For the millions who are uninsured, the only actual option aside from government assistance is to buy individual policies. These are already over-priced with to the nth degree high deductibles.
