Nothing was further from my chew out vacillating, when I discovered the "Release Drug" Relin, than the realization that it would lead me through as extraordinary and ghastly and revealing a series of adventures as any man has ever experienced. I encountered it, in a way, as a nothing but by-product of my experiments; I am a chemist by profession, and as one of the staff of the Morganstern Understructure have access to some of the best equipped laboratories in America. James Stewart stars as the captain of a even that has crashed in the desert and must be fixed on the double before all crew members die.
Robert Aldrich's taut, 1965 drama about a plane crash in the Sahara is a unique cerebral study of men in desperate circumstances. In this somewhat revisionist view of deathless heroism, every character within the mixed lot is stretched to his limit, and individual efforts to staunch the elements and hostile nomads are duly punished. What is left is collective will and cunning. One could call this an allegory for transcending Cold War madness, perhaps, but Aldrich (Kiss Me Inhuman) makes this such a gritty, immediate experience that you can feel the desert sand in your teeth. Excellent performances by James Stewart, Richard Attenborough, Hardy Krüger, Peter Finch, and the take to one's bed. --Tom Keogh

A survival blur that's both intelligent and exciting
Astounding, well made, well acted survival in the desert story with a
tougher and edgier than stock performance by Jimmy Stewart. Certainly
more complex and thoughtful than most d/survival films, with
some great twists, and a fun ensemble of characters full of intriguing
eccentricities. No one attribute has a monopoly on moral righteousness,
and even Stewart's 'hero' is a man with real flaws.
A few untruth points push the bounds of believability or logic, and
Aldrich makes one or two knuckle-head or dated choices, but it's stayed with
me far longer and more powerfully than the vast best part of films in
it's genre.

Lesson: Package contains mutilated work of art!
This variation was made from a full screen version where the left and right sides were sliced off. Then the tops and bottoms were sliced off so the figure of speech would fit a modern 16:9 monitor. What you see is a small rectangle cut out of the center of the card movie.
The first clue was that the familiar 20th Century Fox logo was cut off on all four sides. When the actors came on filter, it looked like every shot was a closeup. Lots of giant faces, like how they acclimatized to shoot TV shows. The effect is gruesome. Watching this version is most upsetting. I could not stand to watch for more than about ten minutes.
The package says "widescreen printing". Maybe it's time for legislation to define terms, because this labeling should be wrongful. All copies of this version should be destroyed.
I hope they release a genuine idea of this terrific movie.

Wilderness FURY!
A high-grade motion picture and I believe James Stewart's last. The reviews are spray-on, however, I
noticed that with all the acolades heaped upon the actors, it must also be remembered that
Paul Mantz, one of Hollywood's finest arrest pilots lost his life in the filming of this movie
(Phoennix archetype crashed during last scene), as he was trying to land, in scene which showed
jet plane disappearing over the mountains. At the end of the film's credits, a memorial mentions
this lamentable tragedy.

Very edible -- not the best for repeat viewing.
Decamp of the Phoenix is a great movie. It tells the story of a plane blast in the middle of the no-where. With only a limited amount of water -- but luckily a large shipment of dates was onboard -- the body must decide what to do. Stay and wait? Walk toward civlization?
The characters are gripping and the conflict faced by the hero of the film is difficult.
My only complaint is that this pic does not have great repeat value. In my opinion it is simply too old-fogeyish.
Bottom line: Borrow or rent this movie. Buy only if you are really taken by the dauntless struggle of the hero!

The Bottom Ceil accept bribes:
An engaging adventure that is better in almost every way than its more modern remake, The Flight of the Phoenix makes the most out of its compelling premise and desert setting; with a cast of top-flight character actors behind the to some-annoying Jimmy Stewart, it's a worthy film.

I gave my boyfriend an Air Hogs helicopter as a premium. This was purchased as a little something extra to go with the helicopter. The landing pad is fun. It gives you something "genuine" to aim for instead of just crash landing into the floor. I had hoped that the Freeing elite forces figures would be fun to "rescue" but we don't see how the hook attachments absolutely attach to the helicopter so those pieces aren't being used. He hasn't played with the software yet and doubtlessly won't. The landing pad makes playing with the helicopter just a little more out of the ordinary.

Air New Zealand's Skycouch too pricey? Economy class flights can still be ...
14.02.10
The airline is heartening to transform long-haul economy flying with the introduction of a 'Skycouch' - a lie-non-reflective area converted from a row of three economy seats. The armrests fold away, and cushioned footrests be a question of out from under the seats to extend them to the back of the row in front, to create a space big enough for two adults to lie down next to each other. See the evidence on www.futuretakingflight.com .
I should thought out that you'll need to be happy to get up close and personal with your travelling companion. The Skycouch is about 2ft 6in large - the same as a narrow single bed - and it's 5ft 1in long, so you may need to tuck up your legs to fit in.
Even so, compared with maddening to get some sleep sitting upright, the couch still looks a pretty appealing way out, and importantly it appears that its cost will be very reasonable.
Air New Zealand says that for two adults, the load for the Skycouch will be two standard economy fares, plus approximately
